In an effort to say what is left unsaid, Andrea alters the subjects of her images by obscuring or removing identifiable features. They become archetypal representations telling their stories through colors, marks, gestures, and motif. This process of layering and removal allows the story to unfold away from the direct interaction between the subject and the viewer, placing the focus on the surrounding narrative.

Believing that women are the keepers of the stories and caretakers of traditions, Andrea has created a dialogue between the works that draw upon symbolism and superstition through adorned details. This ancient storytelling serves to elevate the importance of the divine and the ordinary, and creates history.
